AIROS® Medical, Inc., a medical technology manufacturer specializing in compression therapy devices that treat cancer-related lymphedema as well as venous disorders, today announced it has received trademark registration from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its company and brand name, “AIROS”.
AIROS designs and manufactures two sequential compression device and garment systems, the AIROS 6 and AIROS 8. The devices work with their respective garments to provide gradient sequential air compression that helps patients with lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and other venous disorders. The compression can be administered at different pressures and timing sequences, as prescribed by a physician, to reduce swelling and increase blood flow in the legs, arms, chest, back, and torso.
“We are pleased to receive this trademark registration, as it represents years of hard work establishing our presence in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors,” says Gerald Makoid, CEO and president of AIROS Medical. “We believe that this trademark will further strengthen our brand amongst the patients, clinicians, and durable medical equipment suppliers that we collaborate with every day. We look forward to continuing the development of medical devices and technology solutions under the AIROS brand that can help improve the quality of life for various types of patients.”
AIROS first received 510(k) clearance to market its line of compression medical devices and garments from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2018. The company received additional FDA 510(k) clearances for its updated AIROS 8, AIROS 6, and Arm Plus garments earlier this month.
AIROS will display its diverse product line at various conferences and trade shows this year, including the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Spring conference in May and the National Lymphedema Network (NLN) conference in October.
