Gradient Mode and Pressure Mode are two main operating modes that utilize gradient sequential inflation and deflation sequences. The user sets the starting pressure in Chamber 1 on the garment, the most distal chamber near the foot or hand. Pressure decreases at a gradient distally to proximally. Beginning with Chamber 1, each individual garment chamber inflates to the set pressure and holds that pressure until all chambers have been inflated. Then, all chambers deflate, and the next compression cycle begins.
